The state institution ‘Technical Regulation and Metrology Committee of the Ministry of Trade and Integration’ (CTRM) is an Agency of the Ministry of Trade and Integration of the Republic of Kazakhstan that performs regulatory, implementation and control functions and participates in the implementation of strategic objectives of the Ministry in the areas of technical regulation and metrology.

Today, technical policy in the field of standardization is under the responsibility of CTRM, with a regular budget. 

In addition, CTRM:

• approves national standards under the abbreviation ‘CTPK’ (National Standard of the Republic of Kazakhstan);
• defines products for mandatory certification; and
• defines and develops rules for product certification and laboratory accreditation and approves measuring instruments.
